On the surface last weeks meeting of Tipperary Co board in Thurles might seem to have produced a good result for Mullinahone as far as the Tipperary senior hurling championship is concerned. The semi finals in each division will take part in a knockout county championship. 

At present there are only four senior hurling teams in South Tipperary so all four would take part in the county championship which is a knockout. If last season’s results in knockout competition (two defeats) were to be repeated it would mean that

A) Mullinahone would be out the South championship at the semi final stage.

B) They would be out of the county championship at the last 16 stage.
