Our U12 footballers started their championship year off with a game against Killenaule in Mullinahone on Saturday last. Unlike previous years, numbers at this age group are small and its important that all U12 players make themselves available for every game.

We are very grateful to the U10’s who made themselves available for the game. The first half started with Mullinahone playing with a strong wind. Our players were competing well with a strong Killenaule out fit. As the game progressed conditions worsened to such a degree that referee Paddy Ivors had no choice but to call off the game at half time in the interest of players safety.

The panel for the day was; Cathal Kavanagh, Joe Hogan, Declan Denny, Conor Croke, Alison Crowe, Sean Bermingham, (capt), Stephen O Reilly, Michael Dunne, Owen Brett, Conor O Halloran, Graham Horan, Tom Sawyer, Shauna Kennedy, Liam Fennelly, Edward Dunne and Sean Fitzgerald.

Our U14 team start their championship against Newcastle in Mullinahone on Thursday, 17th April. By the time you read this our U16’s will have played their game against Kilsheelin. It would be a great boost to players and selectors alike to see more support at these games.

Best of luck also to Cathal Horan who along with selector Martin Cody and team coach Jackie Bolger will represent us when South Tipp U16 hurlers play Muskerry of Cork in the Munster semi-final next Saturday.
