Soccer

E-mail Print PDF

In recent weeks the number of boys attending under age soccer training has continued to grow. There are now up to 30 boys from the surrounding area being  ferried to Mullinahone for football.

The boys are now back indoors but were delighted to have had the use of the new Sports Hall for the winter months, with thanks to Jackie Bolger and Albert Curran for help and co-operation.

Lack of help made it impossible to keep going last year with the onus on training and taking care of such large numbers falling on so few. This year we are delighted to welcome aboard Nigel Trudgill from Ballycullen and Chris Hayes from Drangan. Their enthusiasm and encouragement has been a great support to long time coaches John Bermingham and Tommy Forristal.

"And I wouldn't much care for Sierra Leone, If I hadn't seen Killenaule
And the man that was never in Mullinahone,
Shouldn't say he had travelled at all."
