St. Michael’s National School were presented with two prizes at the Tipperary County Council Environment Awards in Hotel Minella. The school received €300 and a trophy for Best Waste Management policy in South Tipperary and €100 for being awarded the Green Flag. The school has reduced by 90 the amount of waste going to landfill. Only tow bins were collected for landfill during 2007. Conor O Halloran, Jack Walsh, Pat O Halloran and James Cahill represented the school at the award ceremony.
