This week we salute Ms Kate O Connell and the pupils of Scoil Mhuire, Kilvemnon. Kate teaches 3^rd and 6^th classes in Kilvemnon Ns.

As a result of an Irish competition Kate was chosen to represent Ireland in the IT innovative awards sponsored by Microsoft. This competition was held in Zagreb in Croatia and a very favourable result is rumoured. A win in Zagreb would see Kate and the children’s project representing Kilvemnon, Tipperary, Ireland and Europe in the world final.

The school is indebted to all who helped out with the project. Among those included are local pilot (and instructor) Vincent Vaughan, the Board of Management of the school, parents, grandparents and school staff who assisted the children with their project. A special word of congratulations to Kilvemnon school principal Teckie Brett, who gave huge encouragement to the project.
