At our recent meeting plans for our annual U12 hurling tournament were put in place. This year’s event will take place in August on Saturday 31st. Two teams from north of the country will take place this year. Both these teams and mentors will be accommodated with families around the parish. This is a wonderful day’s enjoyment and we invite all our supporters to write it into your diaries in time.
Some of our young players have been very successful in recent weeks. In Ballingarry school Gary Cronin has been named hurler of the year while his club made Eoin Fennelly won the footballer of the year award.
Ten of our players were part of the Scoil Ruain team who beat Causeway in the Munster final. Well done to Jack Shelly (Capt.), Richie Walsh, Killian Skorka, David and Sean Walzer, Conor Vaughan, Robert O Reilly, Luke Mullally, Jack McCarthy and Paul Gayson.
The future certainly looks good.
