Last Sunday was a good day for Mullinahone Tipperary hurling. On a lovely fine day which drew the crowds, including a good contingent from Mullinahone, Tipperary’s hurlers had a good win over Waterford in the final of the Waterford Crystal hurling league.Captain of the Tipp team on the day was Mullinahones Eoin Kelly, who accepted the trophy on behalf of the Tipp team.
Eoin had previously hurled a very good game, scoring 2-5 of Tipp’s total. At the other end of the field Paul Curran had a good game at full back, defending very well. This was a good result for Tipp but we must remember that 2007 also began with Tipp winning the same competition in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. When the league starts on Sunday week in Thurles against Offaly it would be nice to see Paul Kelly back in the panel
